Join our team as an

HGV Driver - Refuse & Recycling Collection

and help maintain a clean, safe, and sustainable environment for local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive HGV vehicles for refuse and recycling collections (including skip loaders) Supervise a small team of loaders or drivers during driving duties Operate automatic and manual collection equipment safely and efficiently Collect and empty wheeled bins, food waste caddies, refuse sacks, and bulky/trade waste in all weather conditions Sort and load recyclables (glass, paper, cans, textiles) at speed Deliver collection containers (bins, boxes, sacks) and information leaflets to households Use in-cab technology for route and task management Maintain cleanliness and condition of vehicle (interior & exterior) Perform daily driver safety checks and report vehicle defects promptly Follow all health & safety procedures, including using reversing assistants Work overtime as required until collection rounds are completed Engage with members of the public courteously and professionally Support other Cleansing duties or transfer station operations when needed

What We're Looking For:

Valid HGV driving licence (Category C or above) Knowledge of safe vehicle operation and compliance with tachograph regulations Team leadership skills and ability to supervise staff Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions High productivity and attention to safety Willingness to work Bank Holidays (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day) Strong communication and customer service skills

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Valid Driving Licence (HGV) Proof of Right to Work in the UK (Passport or valid photo ID) National Insurance Number
