We are looking for an experienced and reliable HIAB HGV Driver to join our team. You'll play a vital role in the safe and efficient movement of welfare units and lighting towers between our depots (Huntingdon, Bristol, Scotland, and Sherburn) and directly to customer sites.
This role requires excellent planning and communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Safely load, transport, and unload welfare units and lighting towers between depots and customer sites.
Carry out thorough pre-delivery inspections, taking photos and logging condition reports on the company tablet.
Complete professional customer handovers on delivery and collection, ensuring all paperwork and digital records are accurate.
Inspect units for damage or shortages on collection, recording details and photos, and obtaining customer sign-off where possible.
Perform daily vehicle checks, reporting defects promptly, and ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with manufacturer schedules.
Use and download digital tachographs in full compliance with legislation.
Plan and manage journeys efficiently to maximise productivity and minimise costs or delays.
Maintain vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
Follow all Health & Safety policies and company procedures.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by your manager.
Requirements
Valid HGV licence with HIAB qualification.
Proven experience in safely transporting and handling large units/equipment.
Experience using handheld tablets for vehicle condition appraisals and job records.
Current Driver CPC and valid Digital Tachograph card.
Valid UK driving licence with a minimum of 2 years' HGV driving experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and remain flexible.
Strong focus on safety, compliance, and professional standards.
Flexible approach to work - early starts and occasional nights out may be required.
