About the role





You will contribute to growth in Macmillan's income by leading on the delivery of high quality, impactful fundraising events for audiences supported by Macmillan's Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy division (CPP). The events will also offer cultivation and engagement opportunities, helping to strengthen donor pipelines.



The role sits within the wider high value events team, whose portfolio spans events that engage key Macmillan audiences including philanthropists, partners, colleagues, volunteers, healthcare professionals, people living with cancer and policy makers, to inspire and deepen connections to Macmillan.



Your key responsibilities will include:


Leading the end-to-end planning, project management and production of events, ensuring they are produced to the highest standards and meet agreed income targets and other KPI's Managing relationships with HVE volunteer committees to help deliver events and working collaboratively with peers across Philanthropy and Corporate teams to maximise these relationships in helping build donor pipelines Ensuring events are designed to be meaningful and relevant to supporters, on brand and in line with Macmillan's strategic objectives Devising and delivering marketing, communications and messaging plans tailored for each event Managing event budgets, maintaining records of income and expenditure, reporting on performance and ensuring appropriate use of databases. Liaising with key internal and external suppliers, ensuring best practice, maximising efficiency and minimising expenditure Identifying and managing sponsorship opportunities with internal and external stakeholders to secure additional income for Macmillan. Ensuring events meet health and safety requirements and are compliant with other internal Macmillan processes Producing evaluation reports to demonstrate impact of events, ensuring recommendations are fed into future planning and identifying growth opportunities Building and maintaining sound knowledge of any relevant legislation including Data Protection laws and Gift Aid Managing direct reports and volunteers to ensure the successful delivery of our events programme.

The role will require working from our London office for a day a week and includes some travel to attend events across the UK. You will also be expected to work outside of general office hours (evening and weekends) when required.


About you:





The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:


Experience of delivering complex fundraising events. Project management experience. Budget management experience. Experience of event creativity and design theming from concept to production An understanding of health, safety and legal requirements of events. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail. Well-developed organisation and prioritisation skills Experience of working with high net worth individuals and committees is desirable. A proactive, solutions-focused attitude.
