About the role
York College is seeking a dynamic and strategic Higher Education Manager to lead and enhance our growing Higher Education provision. This pivotal role involves shaping and delivering the College's HE strategy, driving curriculum development, and ensuring a high-quality student experience. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to promote our HE offer, oversee validation processes, and monitor recruitment and quality metrics. If you're passionate about widening access to higher education, thrive in a collaborative environment, and have a strong understanding of the HE landscape, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a strategic and innovative leader with a passion for developing higher-level skills that meet the evolving needs of learners, employers, and the wider economy. You'll have a solid background in Higher Education programme management, with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape and curriculum design aligned to technical and professional pathways. Your ability to build strong partnerships-internally and externally-will be key to expanding progression routes and enhancing the student experience. With excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills, you'll be committed to driving quality, fostering innovation, and ensuring our Higher Education offer equips students with the advanced skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a competitive world.
About the College
We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.
We are proud to be part of a consortium of colleges and employers developing the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology (IoT), designed to increase higher level technical skills for employers.
