Higher Level Teaching Assistant + SSA

Grade G, 27,910 - 30,521 plus SSA 1,213 - 1,339 - 1,364 (depending on length of service)

Full Time - 37 hrs term time only

Temporary to cover a maternity leave



Gibside School is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Staff, parents, and governors all work in partnership to ensure pupils thrive socially, emotionally, and educationally during their time with us. We work with around 200 children, aged 3 to 11 from across the whole borough of Gateshead. The children have a wide range of needs including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). Our aim is to inspire, motivate and challenge all our children and to build confident, cooperative, independent learners. We moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art school building in 2021 which provides the excellent learning facilities our children so deserve.



We are currently looking to appoint a highly motivated and reliable Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a positive attitude and high expectations of themselves and others. You will ideally have experience of working with pupils with SEND and be able to provide a challenging and enjoyable education for our pupils. You must be able to work as part of a team, including multidisciplinary professionals and parents/carers. We are looking for an HLTA who is committed and enthusiastic, with good organisational and communication skills

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year, they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.
