General Teaching Assistant - Early Years (Reception)

Location:

Primary School, Ellesmere Port

Hours:

Monday & Friday, 8:30AM - 3:30PM (with half-hour unpaid lunch)

Contract:

Term-time only (38 weeks but paid over 12 months)

Pay:

13.68 per hour

or

monthly salary option available

About the Role

We are seeking a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years (Reception) team at a Primary School in Ellesmere Port. This role is focused on supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing in the classroom, ensuring every child has the best possible start to school life.

Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to support children's learning and personal development. Assist with classroom organisation, resources, and displays. Encourage positive behaviour and help children build confidence and social skills. Provide support for children with SEND where required, ensuring inclusion at all times. Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies are followed at all times.
About You

Experience working with young children (EYFS/Reception experience desirable). Patient, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children's learning. Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with children and staff. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection. A DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
