The Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the educational development of students, particularly those with special needs. This position involves working closely with teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering the growth of children, especially those with autism and other disabilities.
Duties
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and educational activities tailored to the needs of students.
Support children with autism and other disabilities in their daily learning and social interactions.
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional assistance, particularly in special education settings.
Engage with toddlers during care routines, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Collaborate with teachers to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and challenges.
Skills
Experience working with people with autism or other disabilities is essential.
Strong teaching skills, with the ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning needs.
Previous experience with children, particularly in an educational or care setting.
Knowledge of special education practices and principles.
Ability to provide toddler care, ensuring a nurturing environment for young learners.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children through education and support.
