About the Role



We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a current member of staff looking to further develop their skills and make a greater impact on our pupils' learning. As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, including leading whole-class sessions when required and providing targeted support to small groups or individual pupils. You will continue to carry out essential teaching assistant duties while also taking on enhanced responsibilities, including leading lessons and supporting curriculum delivery.

Key Responsibilities:



? Plan and deliver learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff

? Support teachers in assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress

? Lead whole-class lessons when needed in the absence of a teacher

? Support pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum

? Contribute to the creation of a positive, stimulating learning environment

? Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning

? Support pupils across a range of abilities, providing tailored assistance to help them access learning

? Assist the class teacher in preparing and maintaining learning resources and classroom displays

? Support the emotional, social, and personal development of pupils, including implementing behaviour management strategies

? Supervise and support pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and on educational visits

? Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour

? Assist with administrative tasks related to classroom organisation and pupil learning

? Mentor and support other teaching assistants as appropriate

? Deliver targeted intervention programmes and small group support

Person Specification

? HLTA status (or willingness to work towards this qualification)

? Strong understanding of the primary/secondary curriculum.

? Proven experience supporting teaching and learning

? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

? Ability to motivate and inspire pupils

? Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
