Our staff are required to work on a range of different sites, including; college campuses, employer's premises or communities local to your learners home - therefore willingness to travel is essential. There may be a requirement to transport learners in your own car, insurance implications are reimbursed. Mileage and expenses are provided for travel during the working day.
Job Purpose:
The Site Lead is responsible for the daily operational oversight of the campus, ensuring a safe, efficient, and supportive environment for learners and staff. Acting as the deputy to the Campus Manager, the Site Lead will provide leadership in managing Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), overseeing learner welfare of learners, and coordinating staff cover arrangements. The role requires strong organisational and communication skills to liaise with parents, the welfare team, and other key stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to:
Site Oversight & Leadership
Oversee the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
Act as the primary on-site lead in the absence of the Campus Manager.
Ensure all campus operations align with college policies, procedures, and safeguarding regulations.
Act as a point of contact for staff, learners, visitors and contractors.
Line Management of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
Line manage LSAs, providing support, guidance, and performance management.
Undertake and support the induction process of staff on site.
Organise LSA timetables and deployment to ensure effective learner support.
Conduct regular supervision meetings and annual performance reviews.
Undertake absence management activities in line with policy.
Medication Lead
Oversee and coordinate the administration of medication to learners, ensuring compliance with all medical protocols and record-keeping requirements, on site.
Work closely with the medication lead to support learners with medical needs.
Work closely with the medication lead to train staff on learner medication needs and administration.
Fire Marshall & Health & Safety
Act as the designated Fire Marshall, ensuring fire safety procedures are followed, including leading fire drills and maintaining compliance.
Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to across the site.
Serve as the primary contact for the Health, Safety, and Estates Manager, coordinating logistics when contractors are on-site.
Cover Lead
Coordinate staff cover arrangements for absent staff, ensuring minimal disruption to learners.
Personally provide cover as required, supporting learners effectively.
Parental & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, handling queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Liaise with the welfare team to ensure learners receive the appropriate support and interventions.
Maintain accurate records of parental and external stakeholder communications.
Supporting Learners & Staff
Provide additional support in sessions when required to ensure continuity of learning, undertaking the role of an LSA.
Undertake observations of LSAs, as directed by the Director of Quality and Curriculum.
Deliver training where required and mentor LSAs.
Work closely with tutors and support teams to address learner needs.
Monitor attendance, engagement, and behaviour, escalating concerns appropriately.
Collaborate with the Site Lead to plan, coordinate, and oversee lunchtime enrichment activities, ensuring a high-quality and consistent experience for all learners while accurately tracking participation and engagement levels.
