Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Highways Electrician to join our Electrical Operations team based out of our Bilsthorpe Depot.

What you'll do:



Support the Electrical Chargehand/ Supervisor to undertake the installation and maintenance of street lighting, traffic signals and other electrical installations. Carry out work efficiently, effectively and safely to keep costs within budget, ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specification and instruction. Ensure compliance with all NHSS8, Health & Safety & Environmental accreditations. Take personal responsibility for own and others health and safety and welfare and ensuring a safe working environment for colleagues and customers. Ensure all paperwork and electronic data is accurately processed, for it to be submitted to supervisor for final approval. Liaise with Supervisor, Chargehand & Inspector regarding resolving any queries on site, to ensure the inventory/ project information is kept up to date. Be responsible for operating vehicles, plant, tools and equipment ensuring correct use and unnecessary damage, comply with daily routine checks, recording to legal requirements and reporting any damages or defects found. Provide a flexible approach to working times / days depending on the needs of the business, and support work on an out of hours emergency call out rota to minimise disruption to the network.

What we're seeking:



City & Guilds 236 / 2360 or equivalent (NVQ 3 Diploma in servicing and commissioning in highway electrical systems) 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations. Full Current UK Driving Licence. Hold industry recognised qualifications, New Roads and Street Works Act. Knowledge & experience in the use of plant, transport, materials and operations associated with Highway Electrical Installation and maintenance activities. Carryout works using own initiative and make decisions without the need of referring to others. Flexibility to learn new skills and look for continuous improvement in service delivery.

Pay: 27,000.00-33,000.00 per year
