We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Depot Supervisor / Hire Controller to oversee the daily operations of our depot. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and be proficient ensuring efficient management of resources and personnel. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of service delivery while optimising operational efficiency.
Duties
Manage the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Raising of hire contracts and sales notes.
Stock control and management of assets.
Responsible for carrying out weekly stock takes.
Carryout weekly and monthly H&S checks and record all actions.
Supervise and train depot staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the depot.
Monitor inventory levels and manage stock control to meet operational demands.
Liaise with suppliers and customers to maintain strong relationships and ensure service excellence.
Loading and unloading of equipment as necessary.
Route planning to ensure the efficient delivery of equipment.
Reporting of vehicle defects.
Requirements
Proven experience in a managerial role within a logistics or depot environment.
Proficiency in using computer programs.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
