- Who are we looking for?



Overview:



We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Hire Controller to join our growing team. This key role will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of equipment hire operations--ensuring a smooth, efficient, and customer-focused service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Hire & Fleet Coordination: Manage internal and customer hire requests, ensuring timely processing, accurate availability updates, and optimal fleet utilisation. Arranging equipment returns, inspections, and system updates. Customer & Supplier Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customers and suppliers. Understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, maintain strong relationships, and ensure timely, cost-effective equipment sourcing. Documentation & Administration: Prepare hire quotations, contracts, purchase orders, and invoices. Maintaining accurate records and supporting general administrative tasks in line with company procedures. Workshop & Compliance Support: Coordinate with the workshop for equipment servicing, repairs, and inspections. Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and compliance requirements.

Key Skills & Experience:



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service. Previous experience in a hire controller or similar role is preferred. Understanding of Plant & equipment hire, servicing, and logistics is an advantage. Competence in Microsoft Office and hire management software/systems, ideally Syrinx.

Ability to gel with existing team. Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills. Sound written and verbal communication skills. Computer literate Full UK Licence

Key Role Benefits / Details



- Full Time Contract (50 Hours Per Week)

Working times would be Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 18:00, based out of our Harris Bridge Depot (CV13 6LS).

Due to continued business growth and future development, this role may require working a varied shift pattern.

The role will be subject to a three-month probationary period.

Salary - 30,000 to 34,000 (Depending on Experience)
