Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled historic vehicle technician/classic car mechanic to join our rapidly growing team.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to strip down, assess and repair a range of historic road and racing vehicles, from 1920s Bentleys up to '70s Group 2 Alfa Romeos, and everything in-between. The ideal candidate should be able to prepare cars to a high standard, suitable for road use, circuit racing and long-distance rallies. Candidates should be able to work individually and as a team, and have a basic knowledge of, or a keenness to learn, manufacturing techniques such as welding, machining and fabrication. Standard workshop hours apply, but occasional weekend work may be required at race meetings or other events, both in the UK and abroad.

& Experience

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills:

Proficient in mechanical work, strip down and reassembly Able to think laterally with problem-solving skills when parts are no longer available. Remanufacture, reverse engineering or alternative solutions are in our day-to-day. Ability to work in an organised manner when stripping down parts with high levels of attention to detail. Familiarity with points ignition systems, dynamos, magnetos, carburettors and other redundant systems. Able to work to a tight deadline around the motor racing calendar, often going the extra mile to ensure that cars are delivered race-ready. Ability to tow with van and trailer preferred. 5 plus years of

classic or race

experience required - not necessarily at a professional level; highly skilled hobby restorers also welcome. Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with effective communication skills.
