Job Description

We are a holiday club that provides fun and exciting activities during the school holidays for children. We're looking to recruit a fun, enthusiastic, reliable, and trustworthy playworker to provide quality play experiences and care within the framework of the club's policies and procedures. The holiday club hours are 8am to 6pm.

Main duties include:



To be responsible for the safety and welfare of children. To work within a team environment to help organise, facilitate, and lead a range of play-based activities, which may include sports, arts, crafts, games, drama, dance, multimedia, and/or adapted activities. To ensure that equipment is properly maintained and fit for purpose. To work within a team to set up and clear away for play sessions or reset activities during the play sessions. To engage children in a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated way. To consult with the children and families and involve them in the planning of activities. To encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective professional relationships. Actively participate in training and development. Maintain good communication with staff, volunteers, children, young people, and families. Be aware of, and adhere to, all policies and best practice guidelines, including those on Safeguarding, Health and Safety, E-safety. Encouraging independence and positive self-esteem. Responding appropriately to emergencies. Keeping records (i.e., timesheets). Ensure that play is safe and encourage children to be aware of their safety and that of others. Treat the children and young adults as individuals and follow the advice of the parents/carers on how best to support them during the sessions. Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.

Essential Qualities:



Experience of working with 4- to 11-year-olds and/or 12-16-year-olds Fun and open-minded attitude to play Understanding the varied needs of children and their families Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care An understanding of equal opportunities Provide and facilitate safe and creative play Good communication skills Ability to work effectively within a team and independently To ensure the well-being of the children Appropriate child protection training Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Pay is age related

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 10.10-12.30 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
