Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Sports Coach to lead sporting activities at our holiday club provision. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, and a passion for fostering a positive environment for both staff and children.

Role responsibilities:

Take full responsibility for the health, safety, and well-being of children, adhering to Fun Fest's standards, ethos, and all relevant Health and Safety regulations. Deliver engaging, high-quality sporting activities that captivate and motivate participants. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a safe environment for all children. Uphold the Club's Behaviour Policy and comply with all other relevant policies and procedures. Administer basic first aid when necessary, maintaining up-to-date first aid training. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of accidents, providing detailed descriptions as required. Design and plan sports activities that are varied, engaging, and aligned with children's interests, for both indoor and outdoor settings. Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages play, exploration, and learning. Foster strong partnerships with parents and carers, ensuring they feel fully involved in their child's care and experiences. Collaborate with children, encouraging their involvement in decision-making and activity planning. Observe, monitor, and evaluate children's responses to activities, making adjustments to ensure they remain engaged and develop through play. Ensure all equipment and resources are appropriate, well-maintained, and in good working order.

The Commitment:

This role is available on a zero-hour contract for Mondays - Fridays during the school holidays only, excluding bank holidays, from 7.30am - 6.00pm per day. Flexible working arrangements may be available.

Essential Requirements:

Demonstrates the ability to support engaging and enjoyable play activities for children. Skilled in creating and maintaining a safe, calm, and play-focused environment. Deep understanding of the importance of play-based learning in child development. Capable of collaborating with the Manager to design and deliver activities that cater to diverse needs and interests. Exhibits excellent planning and organisational abilities. Confident in working independently while maintaining accountability. Strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with children, parents, and team members. Highly motivated and proactive in approach. Effective problem-solving abilities, ensuring swift and thoughtful responses to challenges. Clear and engaging communication skills, both oral and written. Exceptional time management skills, ensuring all responsibilities are met efficiently. Maintains composure and professionalism under pressure. Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and circumstances. A collaborative team player who supports and contributes to group goals. Dedicated to safeguarding and actively promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable but not Essential Requirements:

Full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Driving License Computer literate Food Hygiene Certificate
We are committed to safeguarding; all staff will be required to have a DBS check and references before starting.

Specific Fun Fest Holiday Club training will be provided to the successful candidate.
