Ikon Fostering is a well-respected Independent Fostering Agency based in Walsall, West Midlands. We are committed to creating positive futures for children and young people by providing safe, stable, and nurturing foster placements. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and highly organised Home Finding Officer to join our Home finding Team.

Role Overview

The Home Finding Officer will play a vital role in ensuring children and young people are matched with the most appropriate foster carers. This is a dynamic and rewarding position suited to someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and a passion for improving outcomes for looked-after children.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyse referrals of children and young people from local authorities. Match referrals with suitable foster carers based on skills, experience, and availability. Build and maintain strong working relationships with foster carers and partner agencies. Ensure accurate and timely data entry and management using spreadsheets and internal systems. Attend foster carer visits and agency events throughout the year. Participate in relevant training, particularly in the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy). Represent Ikon Fostering in a professional manner at all times, upholding safeguarding standards. Support the implementation of daily operational routines and procedures as required.
Essential Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of standard office equipment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage professional relationships. Ability to work flexibly and manage changing priorities. High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational ability. A professional and positive attitude with a strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Desirable Criteria

Previous experience in a similar role within a fostering or social care setting. Understanding of the PACE approach. Childcare-related qualification or experience. Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
