Bridgend County Care and Repair assists older people with disabilities to repair and adapt their homes.
We are currently seeking an individual who can complete a range of household repairs and minor adaptations for older people and people with disabilities. You will need to have experience of carrying out repairs/maintenance in a housing association, local authority or similar environment and have an understanding of older people and those with disabilities. Working as part of our Hospital to Home team, based in the Princess of Wales Hospital, you must be able to work well under pressure in a reactive and fast-paced environment.
For this particular position, we are seeking a multi-skilled tradesperson who is competent to undertake a range of tasks, including installation of grab rails, plumbing and carpentry and minor ground works, eg concrete ramping/steps and also installation of Telecare lifeline systems. As you will be visiting clients in their own homes you will need to have a full driving licence and a vehicle will be provided for this purpose. A DBS check will be carried out on the successful candidate.
