We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the well-being and independence of clients, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a caring attitude. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, medication management, and behavioural needs, ensuring they receive respectful and personalised care.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medication in accordance with prescribed care plans and ensure accurate documentation
Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and safety
Maintain detailed records of care provided and any changes in client condition
Assist with activities of daily living to promote independence and dignity
Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, using appropriate techniques
Drive clients to appointments or outings safely when required
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and review individualised care plans
Provide emotional support and companionship to improve mental well-being
Skills
Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care environments; Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care experience is highly desirable
First aid certification is essential; additional medical training such as medication administration or case management is advantageous
Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques for individuals with cognitive impairments
Excellent organisational skills for managing care plans and documentation
Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with physical tasks requiring strength
Valid driving licence for transporting clients when necessary
Compassionate demeanour with excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
