We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated people to work within the Homelessness Unit, helping case-holding staff to work alongside homeless families. This role will help ensure the family who are experiencing the crisis of homelessness are dealt with in a professional, empathetic and timely fashion. Skills must include excellent IT skills, the ability to deal with complex clerical duties and excellent communication skills to deal with often challenging telephone enquiries.
About the role:
Providing clerical and I.T. support for the Homeless Team in line with the Authority's statutory obligations under the Housing Act 1996 Part V11, Homelessness Act 2002 and the Homelessness reduction act 2017.
Compiling statistics and maintaining those statistical records.
To maintain confidential filing systems.
To distribute, log and monitor sensitive and confidential post for the section.
To answer telephone enquiries - to triage enquiries from the public.
To triage enquiries from customers made at the Homelessness Unit reception point.
To act, at all times, within the 'Equal Opportunities' and 'Customer Care' objectives of the Division.
To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
To work to the unit objectives and targets and to contribute in the recording of the Units statistics regarding homelessness.
The post holder is required to be familiar with the Directorates Health & Safety Policy and be aware of and observe any part of the policy related specifically to the duties and responsibilities of the post.

The salary band for this role is 25,583 - 26,139. The
starting salary is 25,583
with annual progression through the salary bands.
