Homeless Prevention Officer Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to join Housing Services in delivering front line services to the public. The Post is based at Bridlington Town Hall.
The work is challenging and varied and will focus on homelessness case work including checking eligibility and carry out investigations in line with the Housing Act 1996 (as amended). You will occasionally be required to attending Multi Agency Meetings and assist with other related projects.
The role may occasionally include general tenancy and estate management (which includes progressing possession cases through the County Courts), housing allocations, void control and providing housing advice including assisting with the legal responsibilities under the Homeless Reduction Act.
The successful applicant must have a sound knowledge of housing legislation and policy and have housing experience.
The post will be based at Bridlington Town Hall, however, the Council anticipates that the successful candidate will work in a blended way combining both working from home, from other centres and the office and is keen to offer flexibility to this role where this benefits both residents and officers.
