Are you creative, compassionate, and full of energy?
Would you love to make every day meaningful for older people?
At Cartmel Grange, we believe life should be full of joy, laughter, and purpose no matter your age or ability.
We're looking for a Homemaker to bring colour, companionship, and inspiration to our residents' days.
Nestled in the beautiful South Cumbria countryside, our warm and welcoming nursing home provides person-centred care in a family-like environment.
About the Role
As our Homemaker, you'll plan and deliver engaging, inclusive activities that promote wellbeing, independence, and social connection.
Every day will be different, from creative arts, music and reminiscence sessions, to gentle exercise, themed events, and trips out into our wonderful local community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Designing and leading a varied programme of individual and group activities.
Getting to know each resident's interests, hobbies, and life story to tailor activities to their preferences.
Encouraging participation, confidence, and fun in a safe, caring way.
Liaising with families, volunteers, and local organisations to enhance community links.
Recording participation and feedback to support holistic, person-centred care planning.
Working closely with care and nursing teams to support residents' emotional and social wellbeing.
Days: Full time or part time, week days and weekends.
Hours: Flexible
About You
We'd love to hear from you if you are:
Friendly, creative, and passionate about supporting older people.
A great communicator who can motivate and include everyone.
Organised, enthusiastic, and able to plan activities around individual needs and abilities.
Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
Happy to lead sessions, encourage residents, and celebrate small moments that make a big difference.
Experience in activity coordination, care, or community work is beneficial but what matters most is your positive attitude and caring nature.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Why Work With Us
At Cartmel Grange, we offer:
A friendly, supportive team and family-like atmosphere.
Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Flexible working hours to support work-life balance.
Paid DBS check and uniform provided.
Opportunities to be creative, valued, and make a real difference every day.
