The Role:
As an Buyer, you'll be instrumental in shaping our product range. You'll work collaboratively to ensure accurate pricing across channels, using your strong negotiation skills and analytical mindset. Buying is the core of our business, making this a fast-paced and dynamic environment ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional. You'll also bring a strong understanding of our customers, market trends, and a creative approach to drive sales and profit.
Responsibilities:
Build a Commercial Product Range
: Support team goals to create a customer-focused, competitive range, using trend analysis, market data, and competitor benchmarking.
Drive Sales and Profit
: Understand sales and profit variables, employing effective strategies to meet targets.
Range Optimisation
: Adapt our product selection based on online trends to appeal to our target customers.
Promotional Planning
: Contribute to planograms, pricing, promotional activities, product specifications, and supplier selection within your category.
Supplier Collaboration
: Support negotiations and work closely with our global sourcing team to ensure the best product selection.
Process Management
: Ensure adherence to critical buying milestones in collaboration with Product Development (PD) and global sourcing teams.
Quality Standards
: Assist the Assistant Buyer and Senior Buyer in setting quality criteria for own-label products, balancing quality and cost.
Administrative Support
: Handle sample management, approvals, and administrative tasks essential to the buying process.
About You:
Previous buying experience, ideally in a retail environment.
Passion for product selection and understanding of the commercial landscape.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organised with exceptional administrative abilities.
Confident negotiator with experience working with UK suppliers.
Market-savvy with an understanding of current trends.
Problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach in a fast-paced setting.
