Glasswells is the biggest home department store in East Anglia, with shops in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Haverhill, and Saffron Walden. We offer a wide range of quality home furnishings and flooring products to our customers across East Anglia.

We have an opening in our busy Homewares Department, at Ipswich, for a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Adviser.

This is a part-time position, working four days per week, 1 day x 7.5 hours and 3 days x 5 hours (11.00am to 4.00pm) on a rota basis. The position will require you to work alternate weekends, and some bank holidays throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will:

Have a retail background Be confident, flexible and approachable with a cheerful and willing attitude to assist our valued customers. Have excellent communication skills. Have great customer service skills. Have the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. Have a passionate and enthusiastic approach to home furnishings. Previous experience of sales and merchandising would be advantageous, however full training will be provided.

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Greeting and assisting customers in store with their selection of linens, lighting, cookshop and gifts Answering and following up on instore, phone and website enquiries. Preparing quotations Taking orders in person and over the phone. Maximising add-on sales. Using the company sales programme to process and progress orders. Full training will be given on our company systems and procedures. Maintaining showroom standards, keeping the department tidy and appealing.
