Job Description

We're looking for an individual to assist with the delivery of holistic care to patients, family/carers with life limiting illness, within their own living environment.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: 24,793-26,444 per annum (pro rata), Band 3 Competency Based Framework.
Working Pattern: 37.5hours per week. Weekend work required. The service currently operates seven days per week, between 8am and 8pm.
Based at: Little Hulton and Trafford

The successful candidate will be subject to a Standard/Enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

Main duties of the job

  • Play a key role in the provision of specialist palliative and supportive care.
  • Involve patients and their families first and always go the extra mile to provide first class care.
  • Play an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and have strong working relationships with other health care providers.
Whilst you will have a specific base, there may be occasions where you are required to provide cross-site/service cover.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Display a kind, emphatic and person centered approach.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical governance and personal responsibilities
  • Use their own initiative.
Qualifications

  • Have or be willing to work towards NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent.
  • Be willing to undertake Compassion in care course
  • Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle with car insured for business use.
Desirable
  • Ideally have undertaken training in Communication.
