Hospital Porter

Salary: 13.85 per hour
Full Time Shifts - 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday Days available)

Key responsibilities:
Liaising with control staff on the arrival and departure of patients
Covering calls to the Patient Transport desk
Working on the reception when required
Providing patients with information about their ongoing journey
Moving patients on stretchers or wheelchairs
Moving of stores or equipment
Moving of patient belongings if required
Making the patients feel comfortable and at ease by being friendly and helpful
Transfer patients to where they need to go, this will involve having to lift or push patients.
Able to work alongside staff and patients
Other duties appropriate as may be required from time to time.
To attend/participate in any training in person or on line deemed appropriate and necessary to ensure effective performance and personal development

Working conditions:
The work can be physically demanding as porters are on their feet throughout the day, and often have to push wheelchairs and trolleys.
