Job Description

Please Note: These are currently zero hour roles but full time work. Contracts are subject to change to salaried roles later in the year.

Working Patterns available:

Friday to Tuesday - Daytime shifts

Tuesday to Saturday - Daytime shifts

Wednesday to Sunday - Daytime shifts and evening shifts on Friday and Saturday

Part Time Role - Thursday to Saturday evenings 5pm-11pm.

Role Overview:



Delapre Abbey is seeking passionate and dedicated Hospitality Assistants to join our team. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will provide an exceptional guest experience, assisting with various hospitality duties across the Abbey's diverse catering operations. You will be the face of Delapre Abbey, ensuring that all visitors feel welcome and comfortable while supporting the smooth running of the cafe, restaurants and events.

Key Responsibilities:



Guest Services:

Greet visitors warmly, provide information about the Abbey and its facilities, and assist with ticketing and general inquiries.

Cafe and Event Support:

Assist in the cafe area with food and beverage service, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Help prepare for and manage hospitality during events, functions, and meetings.

Front-of-House Operations:

Monitor and maintain the guest areas, ensuring a welcoming and clean environment. Assist in setup and breakdown for events.

Team Collaboration:

Work as a team to deliver top level service to all customers regardless of the reason they are joining

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring a safe environment for both guests and staff. Support the completion of regular checks as required.

Customer Feedback:

Collect and report customer feedback, ensuring that concerns or compliments are relayed to management in a timely manner.

Social Content:

Join in with the team to ensure we capture the fun moments within the catering spaces on social media, providing content to the marketing team.

Skills & Experience:



Experience in Hospitality:

Previous experience in a similar hospitality or customer service role, ideally within a heritage or event venue.

Strong Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with visitors and colleagues.

Team Player:

Able to work collaboratively within a team to meet objectives and ensure smooth operations.

Flexibility:

Adaptable to varying duties and schedules, including weekends and holidays as required.

Attention to Detail:

A keen eye for presentation and a strong commitment to delivering an excellent guest experience.

Interest in Heritage:

An appreciation for cultural heritage and historic properties.

Personal Attributes:



Friendly and approachable, with a passion for hospitality and customer service. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required. Enthusiastic about working in a historic venue and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
