We have an exciting opportunity for a Hospitality Operations Manager to join the team at Emerson College, in Forest Row.
The postholder will be expected to work closely with the members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure that all guests continue to receive high quality courses, events and services, and that Emerson College remains aligned to the vision and values of Ruskin Mill Land Trust.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in organising and overseeing all hospitality activities to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience. As a leader and problem solver, you will guide and support our team, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Evening and weekend working with a flexible approach to working hours and pattern is required.
Key duties will include:
Being a hands-on operator who is present at key times ensuring the smooth operation across the hospitality function including events, kitchen and cafe
Line management and motivation of staff teams to ensure delivery of outstanding service whilst monitoring and identifying areas for improvement
Accountability for all hospitality compliance management, implementation, quality assurance processes and quality improvement action plans.
Liaising with suppliers, contractors, and partners to maintain standards and efficiency and financial management
Close working with senior leadership team, coordinating departmental functions and implementing efficient processes throughout the College.

You will need to demonstrate:
Experience of and commitment to ensure the highest possible standards of service and customer satisfaction
Extensive experience of a leadership role in a hotel/residential setting and dealing with guests and team members
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests, colleagues and stakeholders internally and externally at every level, and able to build rapport and effectively resolve conflicts
Strong and proven line management skills to build an effective team with a commitment to working closely with other team members
Food Hygiene Level 3 or willingness to complete.
