We are seeking an experienced Conference & Banqueting Kitchen Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and management of events within our venue. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring that all food safety standards are met.
Shifts are rarely longer than 8 hours and evenings are uncommon. A work life balance is easily achievable. It is not a high pressured environment hence salary offered.
Role mainly involves:
- Breakfast shifts cooking for the hotels residents
- Providing afternoon tea service which is approximately 20 to 30 covers a week.
- Conference and funeral buffets daily in the week
- No evening food offering so no evenings unless there is an event on
- At the weekend there can be a sit down meals or a buffet but we do a lot of own catering events at the weekend so you don't need to work those events.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure high-quality and consistent service delivery.
Manage the kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation in line with client expectations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of food handling.
Assist in training new staff members on best practices for service, food safety, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with other departments, such as event sales to produce menus or prices in line with customer requests
Work calmly and effectively with the front of house staff
Requirements
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in conference and banqueting kitchen setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations is essential.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is required.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with own team and other departments.
A positive proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
