St Margaret's Hotel is 11 Ensuite rooms Hotel offering high-quality accommodation just 5 minutes' drive from the historic center of Oxford. With free Wi-Fi throughout and private parking on site, this guest house lies on the edge of the University of Oxford campus. The Victorian building retains architectural features including stained glass windows, high ceilings and bay windows.

Job Introduction



We currently have an opportunity for a Hotel General Assistant to join our small and super-friendly team.

As we are a small team, a Hotel General Assistant will be responsible for breakfast service, room cleaning, public area cleaning, along with some reception duties.

Experience preferred although training will be provided.

Role Responsibility



Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of Breakfast to customers in the morning. Ensuring that the kitchen and breakfast areas are clean and tidy Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed. Completing any administration as requested including food temperatures, wastage and cleaning schedules To service and clean the rooms when required. To keep clean the public areas in the Hotel. To handle the general reception duties like answering calls, check-in or Check out Guests, answering guest queries whenever required. To raise any issues or customer suggestions and complaints to the Hotel Manager or the Assistant Manager. Promote good teamwork and work in a friendly, efficient manner. Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, statutory regulations relating to your workplace, this will include but not limited to fire; health and safety; hygiene; working safely; COSHH

The Ideal Candidate



Flexibility to work any day between 7:30am to 5pm. (Open to discussion) Previous hotel experience in all or any of these areas - Reception / Housekeeping / Kitchen experience (although training will be given) Good customer service skills Good communication skills - written and verbal The ability to demonstrate great teamwork The ability to follow instructions Work well within a team environment as well as on their own. Basic knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety Safety awareness
