Job Description

As Maintenance Manager your focus is to create positively memorable experiences for guests, through management of all maintenance across the hotel. This includes infrastructure, repairs and renovations. You will ensure the hotel premises are always both safe and functional for guests and employees.

General



Inspecting the hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards. Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies and facilities. Organise repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests. Plan and oversee renovations and construction. Respond quickly to resolve emergency issues. Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy. Supervision of any maintenance assistants. Manage relationships with contractors and service providers. Familiarise yourself with the company policies and procedures plus employee handbook and lead by example in demonstrating Kew Green values and behaviours. Have the desire and ability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training and development.

Maintain budgets, expenses and activity logs.

Quality



Ensure all appropriate brand Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to. Ensuring the highest standards of personal presentation, hygiene and conduct in accordance with the hotel standards. Ensure COSHH guidelines are achieved and maintained. Check monitoring procedures daily. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored, with all breakages and breakdowns being properly reported and recorded

People



Providing mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to drive continuous improvements to team member performance. Overseeing day-to-day staffing requirements, planning and assign work. Establishing performance and development goals for team members. Full accountability for team members within the maintenance team in terms of recruitment, performance management, review. Liaise with central Hotel Manager with any issues which may be classed as high risk. Act as a role model in terms of values, professional ethics and conduct. Communicate throughout team to ensure all members are aware of current developments within the company. Display a pro-active and leading role in terms of service, culture, development, team image, systems, procedures and skills development.

Take a pro-active approach to ensuring the continued long-term success of Kew Green Hotels. Project manage any key strategic priorities ensuring effective leadership of any working party; clear, concise and timely communication to all stakeholders; development and management of associated timelines; delivery of work streams in line with agreed deadlines. Work with key stakeholders to drive improvements to the business.
