JOB TITLE: RECEPTIONIST
AREA/ DEPARTMENT: CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND RESERVATIONS
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To contribute to the turnover and profitability of the Hotel, through the delivery of excellent customer service, production of quality products and facilities at all times.
RESPONSIBITIES AND DUTIES:
To meet & greet all internal and external customers, delivering service excellence.
To prepare/ closedown reception area in line with Hotel specifications.
To deliver facilities and products to Hotel specifications and in line with legislative requirements.
To ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered at all times.
To promote the services/ facilities and products provided by the Hotel in a positive, professional manner.
To ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness of the Hotel is maintained to legislative and Hotel requirements.
To be responsible for all documentation relating to reservations and bookings and other hotel business.
To be responsible for any cash or credit documents collected, and maintained in safe custody until handed over to management for checking, ensuring compliance of Data Protection Act.
To prepare accurately and reconcile customer bills to full legislative and Hotel specification
All documentation from suppliers of products kept in safe custody until handed over to management for checking ensuring compliance of Data Protection Act.
To work in any area of the Hotel when requested (in which you have received instruction/training)
To maintain total confidentiality and security of Hotel policies and procedures, premises, equipment, facilities and confidential data including customer belongings while on the premises.
To maintain the security of all stock and customer belongings while on the premises.
To perform any other tasks or duties as required by the Management.
To attend training, appraisals and team meetings as required by the Management.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Computer Literate
General basic skills Literacy/Numeracy
Familiar with computerised reservation systems
First Aid Certificate
EXPERIENCE
Experience in front facing customer role.
Experience in related customer service industry
SKILL
Good organisational skills. Able to work as part of a team. Clear communication skills. Ability to keep records and accounts relating to the Hotel and legislative requirement.
Proven skills in relation to the industry.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
Ability to focus on attention to detail. High standards of personal grooming. Confident and courteous.
Hardworking, committed and willing to develop.
Able to work without supervision. Able to promote a professional image of the hotels and self.

Full time hours - 37.5 hours per week, 5 shifts out of 7, includes weekend working. Early shifts 7.30am until 3.30pm and late shift is 2pm until 10pm.
