The opportunity
The successful candidate will deliver lectures and talks that support students in navigating their entry into the acting profession.
Sessions will focus on acting as a business, maintaining and updating professional portfolios, understanding the current casting landscape, approaching and working with agents, and identifying productive activities when not in employment.
The candidate will also provide guidance on funding opportunities, industry-specific resources, and strategies for sustaining an income, offering students a clear framework of support as they transition into the sector.
Your profile
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Strong professional network with agents, casting directors, and industry professionals.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current casting processes, self-taping, and audition practice.
- Expertise in preparing students for showcases, professional auditions, and industry entry.
- Ability to mentor students on career pathways, professional conduct, and resilience in the sector.
- Insight into contracts, unions, and the business side of acting (agents, spotlight, networking).
- Experience supporting transitions from training to professional work across theatre, TV, film, and emerging media.
