The IICL Birmingham Campus is currently looking for an Hourly Paid Lecturer to teach on weekdays. We welcome applicants with this availability to support the campus in the week. The delivery will be face-to-face on campus.
-THE ROLE-
The post holder will be required to deliver modules in subject areas within Computing, including Software Engineering, Web and Mobile Technologies, Software Solutions for Business, Computer Networks, Cloud Computing Architecture, Operating Systems, and Software development. They may be required to lead on modules and devise a range of teaching and assessment materials.
Main duties will include:
o Deliver teaching, learning and assessments, as well as provide support to students
o Deliver teaching and learning strategies in a variety of contexts using appropriate and engaging teaching and learning styles
o Be involved in the design and development of high-quality teaching and learning material
o Supervise the work of students in a timely, professional and supportive manner, providing necessary advice on study skills, research methods, assessment and dissertation work.
o Offer appropriate feedback, support, and encouragement to students to ensure a high-quality student experience.
- REQUIREMENTS -
You should also have:
o A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
o Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level in relevant subject area
o Experience in the design and development of module content
o Evidence of good organisational and personal management skills
o Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively
o IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources
oEvidence of the ability to balance competing pressures of teaching, scholarship, research, administrative demands and deadlines

- FURTHER INFORMATION -
This role has flexible hours across the weekday only. Hours are allocated prior to each term based on the HPL's availability and the Campus's timetabling needs.
