Job Description


We have an exciting opportunity for a well organised and self-motivated Lecturer in Sport and/or Public Services to join the East Durham College Team on an hourly paid basis. Those that have experience delivering across the Public Services provision may also apply.

The Successful candidate will work closely with our Vocational team.

Main Duties of the Role:

Your role will be to deliver an ambitious curriculum to all by working flexibly and efficiently to maintain the highest professional standards in the delivery of allocated teaching programmes, including the associated organisational, coordination and administrative responsibility.

Main duties of the post will require the successful candidate to undertake formal scheduled teaching, which includes preparation, assessment, and evaluation of delivery. Along with associated duties aligned with course leadership and the promotion of the programme.

Essential Requirement: * A level 4 or above teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) or willing to work towards.

  • Minimum of Level 4 qualification in the subject area.
  • Experience of delivery to a wide range of learners (14-19+).
  • Proven track record of delivering good and better teaching.
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Suitability to work with children and/or vulnerable adults.
