Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housebuilding Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our team immediately. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing costs and ensuring the financial viability of our housebuilding projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, cost control, and effective communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders. NO AGENCIES PLEASE.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for housebuilding projects from inception to completion. Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure adherence to financial plans. Conduct site visits to assess progress and value variation works. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to provide financial advice and support. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules. Analyse costs and prepare quarterly CVR reports on project performance for stakeholders. Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills

Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies and practices within the housebuilding industry. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear stakeholder engagement. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred but experience in the role and knowledge is essential.
