Care is Central is seeking motivated and passionate Housekeeping Assistant who is compassionate, caring and dedicated to caring for others the same way we are,

We are looking for individuals to join our growing team in Leighton Buzzard.

Our newly developed 63 bed residential care home is one of only two in the UK designed to meet Passivhaus standards, making it highly energy-efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly. Ensuring that we not only provide outstanding care to our residents, but our environment to.

You will be joining a supportive care team, led by hands-on management who will provide you with a comprehensive training programme.

Role:



To provide a high quality, infection and odour free environment to all residents, guests, and visitors. To ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained in a hygienic, clean, and safe condition. To follow the operational procedures of the housekeeping department.

Duties of Housekeeping Assistant



Complete housekeeping and laundry paperwork accurately, in line with policy and external regulation. Follow Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations. Ensure personal mandatory training is up to date. Ensure the care facility is presented to the highest possible standards. All areas of the home are cleaned in line with guidance as set out in the housekeeping manual. Address any spillages as per the guidance in the housekeeping policy. Talk to residents daily, taking feedback and making the necessary changes. Operate vacuum cleaners, carpet extraction machines, steam cleaners and dry carpet cleaning machines safely. Help to deliver training in the safe use of machinery to all users. Use cleaning substances in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and housekeeping policy, use efficiently to prevent wastage. Ensure chemical stores and cleaning trolleys are locked when not in use. Trolleys/chemicals must never bed left unattended. Use safety signage when cleaning floors e.g., wet floor and cleaning in progress. Report all maintenance and safety hazards and withdraw faulty equipment from use immediately. Adhere to the local safeguarding policy and follow the Duty of Candour requirements.

Requirements:



As a values-based employer, we do not need you to have previous experience in a professional housekeeping role, though it would be beneficial, as would any personal experience you may have provided care for others. What is important to us is that you share our values, have a passion for helping others, can work positively within a team (even when things aren't easy!) and bring joy and laughter to the role, both with those we support and those we work with.

Be eligible to work in the UK (Please note we

do not

offer Sponsorship) Have strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written A caring nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Undertake an Enhanced DBS check (Paid for by us)
