Job Description

The Mitre Hotel is a 39 bedroom hotel based in Exchange Square, with a busy bar, breakfast area and accomadation.


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel or hospitality management, with a passion for ensuring exceptional guest experiences through impeccable housekeeping standards. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team of 5 housekeeper per day, effectively. Along with directly reporting to the hotel manager and liasing with the reception team & maintenance manager.

Responsibilities



Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the property. Develop and implement housekeeping policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality. Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth. Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with established cleanliness standards. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels while adhering to budgetary constraints. Collaborate with other departments to address guest requests or concerns promptly and effectively. Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including staff schedules, inspection reports, and supply orders. Uphold health and safety regulations within the housekeeping department, ensuring all staff are trained in safe working practices.

Requirements



Proven experience in a housekeeping management role within the hotel or hospitality industry is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Proficient in using housekeeping management software and tools. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with guests and staff alike. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices is advantageous. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the operational needs of the establishment.
