Maryculter House is one of the most historic hotels in Aberdeenshire, nestled on the banks of the River Dee, our 40 bedrooms boasts stunning views with fantastic Scottish interiors.

Due to an increase in business levels and a progression of the team we now require to recruit for this role.

Please note that due to our location, we are not serviced by public transport and therefore you must be able to drive and have your own car to get here.



Main Responsibilities

Collect arrival and departure list and keys from Manager Represent the hotel positively at all times when dealing with enquiries from guests Ensure high standards are maintained in all areas of work Check that empty rooms are suitably prepared for occupancy. Remove all food trays and rubbish from rooms. Close all doors. Service rooms one at a time as required ensuring all arrival rooms are attended to first so they can be re-let Ensure that all corridors and stairways in area of responsibility are cleaned every day after rooms have been serviced. Remove soiled laundry to laundry room. Clean out and refill trolley and ensure store areas are kept clean and tidy Report and record any lost and found property in accordance with hotel procedures Report any unusual or suspicious behaviour to the manager Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy Assist with the ongoing training of new staff Re-use and recycle wherever possible

Hygiene, Health & Safety



Responsible for the cleanliness of all items and equipment in work area Maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct Ensures that any potential and real hazards are reported immediately Fully understands hotels evacuation and fire procedures Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others

Assists the Manager or Supervisor when requested Attends meetings and training sessions as required by the company Continually seeks to endeavour professionalism in own job function Works well within a team environment supporting other team members Respects colleagues and managers Respects hotel property and that of guests and fellow employees Assists other departments when required May be required to carry out additional duties not listed to meet business needs
