The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining our high standards of presentation and cleanliness across all treehouses and shared areas. The role suits someone who is hands-on, takes pride in their work, and is self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
You'll oversee a small team of freelance cleaners (1-4 depending on season), coordinate daily cleaning operations, and ensure each treehouse is perfectly prepared for guest arrivals. The position offers the opportunity to grow into a managerial role within the company, supported by training and clear development goals.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure all treehouses and shared areas are cleaned, presented and maintained to a luxury standard.
Oversee daily changeovers, managing schedules, cleaning checklists, and guest readiness.
Complete final checks and sign-off inspections before guest arrivals.
Manage housekeeping stock levels, including cleaning products, linen, and mini-bar supplies.
Report and log maintenance issues promptly, ensuring clear communication with the operations and maintenance teams.
Uphold company standards in line with Treehouse Retreats' brand and guest experience expectations.
Team Coordination & Supervision
Plan and allocate work for freelance cleaners, ensuring efficiency across changeover days.
Provide hands-on support where needed, maintaining team morale and productivity.
Ensure cleaners follow cleaning protocols, safety guidelines and presentation standards.
Support training and development of team members to improve performance and consistency.
Liaise with the Operations Director and Guest Services team to coordinate guest turnaround priorities.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of stock use, linen rotation, and cleaning schedules.
Monitor and record damages, lost property and guest feedback.
Track and log team attendance and completed changeovers.
Support audits and internal reviews to ensure operational efficiency.
Skills & Attributes
Essential:
Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality (supervisory level preferred).
High attention to detail with pride in presentation and standards.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and lead by example.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good spoken and written English.
Full UK driving licence and own transport (rural location).
Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and on-call cover when needed.
Comfortable using digital tools and reporting systems.
Desirable:
Experience in luxury accommodation, boutique hotels or similar environments.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and COSHH standards.
Familiarity with stock management systems.
Practical, can-do approach with problem-solving skills.
Development & Progression
This is a developmental position with clear progression into the Housekeeping Manager role for the right person.
You'll receive ongoing guidance, training and opportunities to expand your responsibilities as you demonstrate capability, leadership and consistency in delivering results.
40 hours per week (including weekend and on-call rotation, with time off in lieu)
28 days holiday per year (inclusive of bank holidays)
