Job descriptionOn behalf of our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, MPA Ballymena is inviting applications for the position of Housing Advisor based in Antrim.The Housing Advisor plays a key role in assessing customers' housing needs and working with internal departments and external agencies to deliver effective housing solutions. The focus is on preventing homelessness, supporting tenancy sustainment, and delivering high-quality customer service tailored to individual circumstances.Key Responsibilities

• Assess Customer Needs: Conduct interviews, visits, and enquiries to determine housing circumstances and requirements.
• Make Legal Decisions: Carry out homelessness assessments and make decisions in line with the Housing Order (NI) 1988.
• Provide Housing Support: Arrange emergency and temporary accommodation; manage a caseload to prevent homelessness.
• Case Management: Maintain accurate records, identify suitable housing options, and liaise with public and private sector providers.
• Deliver Housing Advice: Offer guidance on tenancy rights, benefits, evictions, and sustaining housing.
• Safeguarding: Follow safeguarding protocols and engage with relevant agencies to support vulnerable individuals.
• General Duties: Monitor performance indicators, handle correspondence, and provide office cover as needed.

Essential CriteriaQualifications and Experience:
Applicants must meet one of the following:

• Option 1- Degree (or equivalent level qualification) and at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Option 2- BTEC Higher (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Option 3- Exceptionally, applicants with no formal qualifications but at least 3 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
