Job Description

The Housing Regeneration Team contributes to the strategic development of the Council's HRA portfolio and takes the lead on borough wide housing development projects and partnerships. The team is responsible for driving the corporate housing development programme and small sites programme by identifying and working up project opportunities that meet the Council's vision and values and deliver the required outputs. Such schemes may individually extend to developed values of well over 100m per project. The purpose of this job is to have responsibility for managing projects within the Housing Development Programme and, thereby, contribute to the delivery of new homes in support of the Council's objectives to deliver over 3,500 new affordable homes. The role of the Housing Enabling Manager presents an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, forward thinking and pro-active team.


The role is to drive action to accelerate the supply of housing in the Borough at pace. It recognises that historical supply is below requirements and that step change is needed to drive and support delivery. The role will also actively promote internally and externally the need for housing delivery at pace and provide information, advice and guidance to those with land to bring forward schemes. It will have a leading role in supporting the multi-disciplinary Regeneration and Development teams which will provide a governance structure to support the work programme.
