About the role





Tower Hamlets Housing Options Service is looking for an experienced Housing Reviews Officer to join a highly effective busy team determining requests for Reviews made under Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).



You will have significant knowledge and experience of reviewing decisions made under Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996(as amended) and practice reasoned and impartial decision-making, which might include referencing case law and other relevant legislation hence must be fully conversant and able to interpret information. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both for interviewing vulnerable homeless applicants as well as in correspondence with solicitors. You will work closely with the Council's Legal Team, and give recommendations in the event of Judicial Reviews. Importantly, you will contribute to the learning, development and improvement of the knowledge and practice of Housing Options colleagues by disseminating wider lessons learned from the review process and giving feedback.
