Job Description


You\xe2\x80\x99ll provide support and advice to young people who have experienced homelessness and other forms of social exclusion. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work with the team to manage the day-to-day running of the young person\xe2\x80\x99s 24/7 supported accommodation scheme and be the first point of contact for customers and visitors.

Job requirements

  • Support customers in managing their rent and service charge payments, including their benefit claims where necessary.
  • Deal with the immediate support needs of customers as appropriate and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Provide advice to customers on housing, health, welfare benefit claims and other issues as necessary. Accompany visitors on visits to other services and appointments where appropriate.
  • Assist with all areas of move in to make sure new residents feel comfortable and have the right information concerning their tenure agreement, the local area and other services.
  • Assist on prompting and recording weekly rent and service charges, maintaining resident rent records and making sure arrears are managed in line with the service\xe2\x80\x99s policy.
  • Assist on liaising with the housing benefit department and benefit agencies to make sure customers and the service receive all monies due to them.
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for
  • Educated to GCSE Level or with a good level of maths and English.
  • Some experience dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment.
  • Experience dealing with complex and difficult behaviours in relation to young people facing multiple disadvantages or the willingness to develop these skills.
  • Great communication and administrative skills.
  • Someone with a genuine understanding and compassion for people without a home, who won\xe2\x80\x99t judge but instead will empower customers and give them a voice.
  • Someone who is flexible and adaptable.
  • DBS check.
