About the Role



As a

Support Worker

, you'll play a key role in helping residents on their path to recovery -- offering both

practical support

and

spiritual encouragement

. You'll contribute to a safe, structured and caring environment, helping residents develop life skills and personal responsibility as part of their rehabilitation programme.

This is a hands-on and rewarding role where no two days are the same. From overseeing housing management and property care to delivering group sessions and one-to-one support, you'll help residents grow in confidence and stability as they rebuild their lives.

Key Responsibilities



Housing & Property Care



Ensure the safety and security of residents and the building, particularly during lone-working shifts. Report maintenance issues promptly and support property upkeep to a high standard. Assist with new resident inductions, explaining house rules and use of appliances. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all communal areas, including kitchens and laundry. Complete daily records, logs, and checklists as required.

Resident Support & Rehabilitation



Build positive, supportive relationships with residents based on trust and respect. Support individuals to engage in the rehabilitation programme, helping them set and achieve personal goals. Provide ongoing one-to-one support, helping residents adapt to community living and prepare for independence. Liaise with external professionals such as probation, social services and mental health teams to ensure joined-up care.

Team & Administrative Duties



Work closely with colleagues and management to ensure consistent, high-quality support. Keep accurate records and follow all administrative and financial procedures. Contribute to team meetings, supervision, and training to support continuous development. Uphold The Carpenter's Arms' values, policies, and code of conduct in all areas of work.
