Job description
Play an integral role in improving dignity, independence, and quality of life for people in Leicester in ensuring the appropriate safeguards are in place.



The Adult Social Care team work with individual's, families, carers and the wider community supporting in a strength-based approach. As a valued member of the vibrant service, you'll work closely with our Health colleagues, voluntary sector, and providers to maintain the health and wellbeing of people in Leicester.



You'll have flexibility in hybrid working being both offices based, at Beaumont Way or working remotely from home to suit your needs.



All roles are Full Time 37 hours with Core working hours are typically 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4.30pm on a Friday. A rota will be discussed and agreed upon at appointment.



They will be on a permanent, 12 month or 6 month basis depending on the team.



What you'll be doing





The service is very busy, and the Team Support Worker role is an integral part of the service. You'll support the service in meeting the needs of the residents of Leicester. Your role is the first contact point of the service in supporting people in a strength base way to live as independently as possible. You will undertake an active part of the daily duty meeting and coordinate the calendar for meetings, reviews and other items under the guidance of the team leader. The role of the team support worker will monitor and manage the incoming emails, update support plans and amend as required, liaising directly with partners. The team has approximately 50 workers who support adults with learning disabilities in maintaining their independence. The team is extremely busy and works closely with people that draw on support, families, carers, as well as internal partners occupational therapy, reablement, housing and outside agencies such as health (Primary health and Integrated Care Boards), independent providers and the voluntary sector.



What you'll need





With a good understanding of English and maths, must be kind, trustworthy, honest, friendly, good sense of humour and a good team player, be able to work independently of others and as a team member. Good time keeping is essential. Must be computer literate and be willing to learn how to use the departments database system and any other tasks required.



With a commitment to working in partnership with people and their carers to understand their needs. You'll be able to accurately gather the details of queries over the phone. With a professional manner remaining calm in all situations. You'll have great communications and interpersonal skills. Being able to provide the caller with helpful advice and support.



With some previous experience in a social care setting you'll be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to organise and team work successfully.
