Overview
The role of
HR Administrator
is to support the smooth running of our HR function. This is a key role within our growing business, providing day-to-day administrative and operational support across all areas of the employee lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in people and HR. You'll work closely with the HR team and wider team to ensure that our employees receive a professional and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
Maintain and update employee records on the HR system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GDPR.
Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and new starter documentation.
Manage leavers' processes, including exit interviews.
Maintain the HR inbox and respond to routine employee queries in a timely and professional manner.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Support the recruitment and onboarding process.
Carry out right-to-work checks and reference requests.
Liaise with our Training team to support with sending out induction plans.
Training & Development
Support the coordination of training sessions and maintain training records.
Track completion of mandatory training and professional development activities.
Payroll & Benefits
Assist in collating monthly payroll information for the Accounts team.
Maintain absence and holiday records, ensuring accurate reporting.
Support the administration of employee benefits (e.g. healthcare).
HR Projects & Reporting
Support HR initiatives such as engagement surveys, wellbeing activities, or policy updates.
Produce standard HR reports (e.g. turnover, absence, headcount).
Assist with continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
Person Specification
Essential:
Previous experience in an administrative role (ideally within HR or a similar function).
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Discreet and professional, able to handle confidential information appropriately.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience using an HRIS or HR database.
Knowledge of UK employment law and HR processes.
Working towards or interested in studying for a CIPD qualification.
