This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both the people side and the systems side of HR — ensuring our processes run smoothly while helping us create a great place to work for everyone at the hospice.


Hours: 37.5 per week (9-5pm Monday to Friday - there may be some flexibility on this for the right candidate)


What is the role?


You'll provide high-quality HR administration support across the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to changes, leavers and everything in between. You'll be the first point of contact for HR queries, ensuring a professional and compassionate service for all colleagues.


You'll also take ownership of maintaining accurate data within our HR system, producing reports and helping to streamline HR workflows.


Your key responsibilities will include:




Providing proactive and accurate HR administration and support Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processes Managing and maintaining our HR system (CIPHR) Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries from staff Helping to improve and simplify HR processes and documentation
You'll be comfortable balancing day-to-day admin with opportunities to improve how we work, and you'll value being part of a supportive, people-focused team.


About you:


You'll bring experience from an HR Administrator, HR Assistant, or similar role, and be confident working with HR systems and data. You'll be highly organised, a great communicator, and someone who genuinely enjoys helping others.


You'll also have:


Strong IT skills (including Excel and Microsoft Teams) Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Great customer service and communication skills A positive, team-focused attitude — approachable, adaptable, and proactive
