Job Description

We are the University of Cumbria, a place where people are at the heart of all we do, where enriching the lives of our students, staff and the communities we serve means we make a difference that really matters.

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Advisor to join the Human Resources & Organisational Development team.

At the University, our people are at the heart of everything we do, and one of our key strategic aims is to offer our colleagues a range of EDI, Wellbeing, and Organisational Development initiatives to provide support, advice, and guidance, depending on individual needs.

This role therefore is key in supporting EDI, Wellbeing and Organisational Development OD activity by engaging with cross university activity to support the achievement of the University\xe2\x80\x99s key objectives, whilst working collaboratively within the HR team.

The role works closely with the Wellbeing and OD Manager to support the delivery of the Health and Wellbeing action plan and organisational development offering, and with the EDI Officer to support this area of activity. Other duties also include providing administrative support to the University\xe2\x80\x99s Further Study and Sabbatical processes and relevant approval committees. The role also involves working with colleagues across the University and external suppliers and stakeholders to develop and maintain professional relationships and acquire services.

This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate excellent organisational skills alongside your enthusiasm and ability to communicate at all levels and demonstrate a keen interest in supporting colleagues through an EDI, Wellbeing and OD lens. You will have energy and passion to provide support for multiple concurrent activities, complete work to tight deadlines, introduce ideas and initiatives to make a real difference, and enhance your skills to engage proactively with managers across the organisation.

This role provides the opportunity to work flexibly, between home and campus, to support our commitment to our family-friendly and flexible working policies.
