Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a HR Advisor to join our small Central Services team and lead an excellent function, in a standalone role that serves Groundwork Yorkshire and its subsidiaries. You will ensure the day to day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, HR deliverables and HR metrics are managed in an efficient manner. The HR Advisor will co-ordinate and contribute to the efficient running of the HRIS to support Groundwork to achieve their Business Plan targets, whilst coaching and supporting our managers. You will work closely with the Resources Team to provide an excellent service.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES



Leading on the administration of all HR functions, including recruitment processes (including advertising, filtering applications, managing interview processes, issuing offer letters, taking up references, pre-employment checks etc.), induction, onboarding and offboarding staff, contractual alterations/amendments, maintaining accurate and up to date HR files and other records, and any other HR-related administration; Maximising the effectiveness of Groundwork's HR Information System (Sage HR), and optimising its functions; Providing weekly and monthly payroll information and support the Finance Team (Sage Payroll) on pay related issues; Supporting managers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of routine staff management tasks, e.g. monitoring probationary reviews, appraisals, DBS checks/essential training and other routine HR tasks, ensuring that files are up to date, monitoring absences (including sickness absences and annual leave), purchasing PPE and other essential equipment; Championing and supporting internal communications, staff engagement and other people-related initiatives. Providing monthly reports to management, and quarterly information for the HR Committee; Providing confidential support to staff as required on HR-related matters; Management of ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence management capability management and escalating complex cases to the relevant Director. Assisting in the development of Groundwork's Staff Handbook, and related policies and procedures; To support the Director of Finance & Resources and provide administrative support for the Executive Director and Senior Management Team, including diary management, organising meetings and taking minutes of meetings; Management and administration of the Groundwork Yorkshire training and learning platform. Complying with Groundwork's Health & Safety, Information Management & Data Protection, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding policies at all times; Undertaking any other general duties as appropriate or directed, such as participating in organisation wide initiatives, deputising for other members of the Finance & Resources team, and following administration, environmental and quality procedures. This post may require some out of hours work, for example responding to alarm calls or out-of-hours emergencies, on a rota basis with other team members.
