Redwing Solutions was founded in 2004. We are the UK's leading HR Consultancy specialising in HR for Day Nurseries, Pre-schools and Out of School Clubs. We were shortlisted by Personnel Today for the HR Consultancy of the Year award in 2020. Due to continued growth, we now seek an HR Advisor to join the Redwing Team.
We are based in the town of Redditch in Worcestershire and the role will be office based, any hybrid working would only be after successful completion of the probationary period.
Some reasons why we are a great place to work:
We work Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. no taking work home or working weekends.
Office dog! woof We work in a beautiful, converted cow shed, with a country lane that we can walk up on a warm sunny lunchtime (perhaps taking Reggie for a comfort break) and see the Swallows and Housemartins catching flies mid-air.
We work hard, but we have fun, ask Alexa to play 90's pop, celebrate birthdays, all true of us. We are encouraged to delight our clients with WOW moments, recognising the real value of the relationship we have with them.
All the usual stuff like holidays, cash plan, EAP, pensions and an discretionary bonus scheme.
Plus, we really make a difference to the lives of the business owners and managers we support each day! Imagine stressing over an employment matter, and then realising that there is a team of dedicated HR professionals in Redditch that will support you, hold your hand (albeit virtually) and advise you on what you need to do and when.
Let's get down to the 'nitty gritty' of what the role involves on a daily basis:
Responding to telephone calls and emails from clients in a timely, friendly, yet professional manner with a close attention to detail.
Supporting clients with typical HR questions such as holiday calculations, managing sickness absence, handling resignations, family friendly policies, advising on process and best practice within employment law.
Providing advice and guidance to managers on ER issues including discipline, capability and grievance matters, from initial allegation, investigation through to formal hearing and appeal.
Creating templates, letters, forms, checklists, structures and other useful HR documents for the shop part of our website and for our clients.
Creating new employment policies and procedures, new employer guides and resources.
Drafting contracts of employment and employee handbooks.
Providing a note taking facility to clients who have asked for a HR Advisor to sit in on a disciplinary, grievance or appeal.
Writing HR articles for our magazine New from the Nest and blogs for our website Knowledge Centre.
Supporting the development of more junior colleagues.
Maintaining accurate and up to date records of client interactions on MS Sharepoint and the CRM.
Working with HR Assistants and HR Consultants to deliver the service.
Designing and delivering useful, practical HR and employment law presentations to communicate requirements with our clients and prospects.
Attending conferences, trade fairs, expos to represent and promote the Company.
Our perfect candidate will have:
Have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a role where you were advising managers, on employee relations and employment law matters.
You will be CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards.
Be confident with your ability to identify practical, commercial solutions to our clients' queries.
Be used to case management and understand the importance of Data Protection.
Possess a thorough understanding of employment law and be able to explain to our clients how to approach their employment issue in a way that makes sense even if you are not from the HR world.
Be a team player, someone who enjoys working as part of a HR team.
Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, numerate and customer orientated.
Be comfortable working independently and using initiative to make decisions.
